Guilty Pleasures, Fried Chicken, Models & Anti-heroes

This Week

As this issue is all about the Love, we thought we would share a few of our guilty pleasures as well as the usual this week shenanigans…

So this week I will be:

  • Indulging in Mr F’s love of fried chicken at the excellent Chick ‘n Sours on Kingsland Road. Sticky disco wings, a delicious kung pao guest fry and the biggest korean fried chicken burger we have ever seen. Throw in some awesome old school RnB, sour cocktails and you’ve got yourself a (hen) party!
  • Getting over my pesky winter cold and enjoying some comfort food at new Soho opening Shuang Shuang. Pick your soup base, get it to a boil in your own little hot pot then throw in any ingredient you want from the conveyor belt to create a steaming giant bowl of deliciousness. Cook, dip, eat. Easy.
  • Bringing it back to 2001 with noughties models, Derek and Hansel in Zoolander 2. Is there more to life than being really really ridiculously good looking? Nope, didn’t think so.
  • Booking tickets to see Ryan Reynolds’s snarky anti-hero Marvel masterpiece, Deadpool, at the IMAX. We can only thank the fanboys after the studio was forced to make this movie following a leaked trailer at Comic-Con last year. I am expecting big things from the story of a “disfigured and disreputable mercenary who likes to crack wise, bust heads and generally lay waste to the idea that he’s anyone’s hero” – X-Men meets Van Wilder…  Check out the twitter feed for more hilarity.
